    Games You Have Recently Completed

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden Had the potential to be my GOTY, marred by heaps of bugs (including hard crashes over a dozen times) and a crappy cliffhanger ending but despite that I'd recommend it to anyone likes XCOM-style games. Characters were fantastic and it mixes in some stealth in an interesting way. It's free on Game Pass

    What Are You Currently Playing?

Played a couple of hours of Life Is Strange 2, not really feeling it so far to be honest. The younger brother is annoying rather than endearing, going to leave it until all of the episodes are released (most likely 2020) and see what the consensus is on the whole story.

Life is Strange 2 is heading to Game Pass today/tomorrow so very glad I didn't buy the season pass!

    What Are You Currently Playing?

I really enjoyed the original and before the storm, I haven't picked up Life is Strange 2 as the wait between episodes (3-4 months) is too long for me and it's inevitable that the full season will be on sale when episode 5 is released. I've been burnt too many times supporting episodic releases on day 1. Hitman was the worst, I bought the full season pass and then they release extra paid DLC and then a GOTY edition with more stuff for less than I paid for the season pass.

    What Are You Currently Playing?

There's a big sale on the PS store so a great time to pick up some more PSVR games, I bought 8 last night so I should be set for quite a while now! Tried Astrobot and the VR implementation there is excellent, can't remember the last time a game made me smile so much

Looks awesome, hadn't heard of it before but probably going to be a day 1 purchase for me just based on that trailer

Interesting, guess it's a direct sequel which would make sense for them to turn it around quicker.

    Red Dead Redemption 2

I've already had more than my money's worth from the SP and still a good 10-20 hours to do some challenges and I've almost hit 100 hours wrapping up the main story. Have no interest in MP at all, too many other games queued up.

    Red Dead Redemption 2

I save manually every 10-15 minutes to avoid stuff like that, don't worry too much as perfect pelts aren't that hard to get. Get yourself a high-powered rifle and pretty much every animal can be one-shotted using deadeye.

    What Are You Currently Playing?

Working slowly through RDR2, the game world is something else, so many small touches that make it feel truly alive. I shot a bird (as part of a challenge not because I'm a psycho), carried on playing for an hour or so, came back past the same spot and a fox was eating the remains! The controls are clunky in places, people get offended by the smallest things like being bumped into and the scripted nature of the missions can be annoying but the feeling of being in a living/breathing place is amongst the best I've played. It's a game I think is best enjoyed in 1-2 hour spells where you actually relax into the world. Taken a bit of adjustment as I was doing AC:Odyssey in 3-4 hour stints due to the "just on more sidequest" nature of that game. Odyssey is more "fun" but RDR2 draws you in like nothing else I've played recently, Horizon Zero Dawn and BotW being the last two I remember giving similar vibes.

AC: Odyssey - the endings (there's 3 different strands) were all a bit weak but everything before it was great fun. About 60 hours in total, time for something different before diving into RDR2 but not quite sure what at the moment.

    Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Put in about 60 hours so far and this really is a very good game indeed, great story and some surprisingly twisty (and dark) sidequests. I reckon you'd be clocking well over 100 hours to do everything it has to offer and 80 to finish all the meaningful content (ignoring mopping up every last fort/cave/etc). Definitely worth picking up if you are on the fence, I'd suggest picking the female character as the voice acting is top notch.

55 hours (and counting) into Assassin's Creed Odyssey, it's fantastic fun, not much difference to Origins but the story is more interesting and there is just so much to do. I'd suggest picking the female lead character for anyone else who is thinking of picking it up, the voice acting is very good (better than the male).

Sounds like a winner for me, I played a lot of Gwent in TW3 but haven't played the standalone part. I'll be there for the story as much as anything else so good to know they've nailed that part ?

Return of the Obra Dinn - it's absolutely fantastic, PC/Mac only at the moment but already a game that I know I'll remember for a long time.

    Red Dead Redemption 2

I think Beneath a Steel Sky was the worst on my Amiga, 15 disks I think it was. Too many for the whopping 20MB hard drive I bought with all my birthday money!

    Red Dead Redemption 2

First games I played on my Amstrad CPC464 came on cassette tapes, kids these days have no idea just how far the games industry has progressed!
