Well that was a letdown I thought we were voting for the Forza Edition in the shop for Winter and was hoping for the Ford Capri but it's just voting for an uncommon to comeback to the shop.  The choices are Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Ferrari 812 Superfast, Chevy Colarado ZR2 & Honda Civic Type R https://twitter.com/WeArePlayground

Yes sounds good.

I have all 15 barn finds but the achievement hasn't popped.  Anyone else have this problem?  Also after the latest update sometimes when I fast travel to a live event the audio gets all messed up and sometimes when I go into a drift zone it doesn't trigger.

Was watching an interesting video on cars to own and it pointed out the Peel P50 is the only car with a multiplier of 8 and if you upgrade it you can loop the loop in the concrete pipes.  It was possibly Don Joewon Song who I added as a friend.  Found some races that are right on the limit at about 63km and also a cool road race done in Gymkhana cars.  If you don't have a decent one you can borrow my Hoonicorn if I'm the leader for that race.

Yes loads of people have suffered from that achievement glitch. TA is full of them. Fingers crossed they add more barn finds for people to push it over there line, if they don't just actually fix it.

Somehow we didn't get caught; I'm not sure how as we did most things 'wrong'.

That's a shame.

200MB update couldn't see any info.  Hoping for some good Black Friday deals but not very hopeful since the game only came out in October.

Finally got back on the PC and found what the update does and for me it fixes at least one problem which is that the barn find achievement wouldn't pop.

The cross-platform fixes look like this:

Fixed a bug where some players were not being awarded "Antique Restorer" achievement, despite having collected all the Barn Finds.

Updated the reward for Winter trial to make the Green Morph Suit clothing item available to players.

Fixed a bug where players were unable to get their vehicle reset (either through flipping, or missing a checkpoint) during Team Adventure.

Prevent cars from appearing ghosted whilst in Photo Mode.

Fixed a bug where Drivatars were all showing as Wristband Level 1 in race results screens.

Fixed an issue where completing a Route Blueprint event would leave the player at the end of the on-disc route, rather than the blueprinted route.

Route Blueprint fliers now show "Custom Route" to distinguish then from other Blueprints.

Added a Report button to Designs, Tunes, Photos, Vinyls in the Creative Hub menu.

Fixed an issue where some players were not prompted to join the session.

Reduced the chance of sessions failing to start in Ranked Team Adventure following successful matchmaking.

General Stability improvements.

There are also some PC and racing wheel specific fixes as part of the update, which you can find on the Forza Support blog.. There's no time published for the update to roll out, so keep an eye on your updates throughout the day.

My god in the States for Black Friday the game will be only $30 at Best Buy and $35 at Walmart & Target.  We do get royally ripped off here.

I did the 60km+ Road Race that I saved in about 23 minutes in the TVR Cerbera without using rewind and going off the road a lot.  I think the course was a bit too twisty for that car with its speed but was worth trying out because got quite a bit of Influence out of it and there were only a few sections where you have to drive in a circle so can miss checkpoints or end up facing oncoming race traffic.

Forzathon was really fast to do this time for the Cross Country circuit I just made a custom one that was only 1 lap and did it 3 times.

Very imaginative name for the 1st Expansion, Fortune Island.  I saw a video about it that announces at least 1 car the Lamborghini Urus not the concept version.

Playground Games has announced that the first of Forza Horizon 4's two expansions is called Fortune Island and will be released on 13th December.

As you might gather from the title, Fortune Island will add a new off-shore area to Forza Horizon 4's map. The fictional island resides in "the remote northern reaches of the British Isles" - Shetland, then - and, like other Forza Horizon expansions before it, will focus on extreme weather conditions and demanding driving: "fierce lightning storms, perilous cliffside dirt roads, and sweeping paved mountain switchbacks under the mystical glow of the aurora borealis", it says here. Maybe not Shetland.

The press release also mentions a search for "hidden treasure": new Barn Find cars, perhaps?

Fortune Island is available as part of a two-expansion bundle for around £30, or is free to owners of the Ultimate Edition or the Ultimate Add-ons Bundle.

During its X018 livestream, Microsoft also mentioned that all five custom Hoonigan Fords from the 10th instalment of Ken Block's Gymkhana video series will be released in the game: two have already dropped for Car Pass owners, and three more will be added for all players through November and December.

Thanks for that.

I was hoping for an expanded map e.g. via a bridge that is blocked off or not, but not surprised they have just gone this way. Again.

Already pretty much over it anyway.  Think I'll finish those stories before our free 2 months of gamepass run out, but that might be it!

Take to the Skies: Earn a total of 9 stars from Danger Signs to pay homage to the Caterham R500’s designer, RAF pilot Colin Chapman.

We've let game pass expire, no more Horizon here unless the expansions are just THAT good

Which seems unlikely :classic_rolleyes: given that we're getting Storm Island Remastered ™

I'm the same, had some fun but got too many other great games to play, will wait to see if it comes down in price to the $40 mark and maybe pick it up.

It's way too grindy to get cash.  The banner boards should have been cash instead of influence.

Yes I still have a lot of achievements to get on it.

So what was Forza Horizon 4's downfall?  The grind to make enough cash to buy anything, A Race Creator that you have to start where race events are so still not a true GTA style one, the stupid amount of pointless customisation stuff when all you really want are the cars or something else.

The money thing is a major one. Like pulling teeth, even with VIP boost.

Also I find there isn't enough new stuff in the game to make it a decent step up from the last one. Map looks good graphically, but is otherwise unremarkable ans lacks variety.

It was just boring.

Once I got through the initial completing the roads and finding the boards, it was all just the same old same old.

Too much focus on tricks still.

I liked the idea of the stories, until I realised they're just the bucket list repackaged.

The Online SUCKS and Forzathon was boring

The AI/drivatar/difficulty was broken

No direction.  Progression means squat.

Apart from the lake freezing over in Winter, seasons changed NOTHING.  It was fun changing my outfit to suit the season for the first couple of weeks, but that was it.

It's just a gimmick

I don't give a fuck about the cars, in fact I spend most of my time trying to get them OUT of my garage, so don't care about credits.

I am over the cheesiness of it ("it's your dream LIFE" :classic_rolleyes: oh, fuck off), the formula and it all just being repackaged again and again and being sold on the graphics while the gameplay is stale toast.

Some of the best fun we had in 2 was finding our own jump areas, not having them handed to us on a plate with some arbitrary target, that, once met held no appeal to do it again.  Crashing or landing funny results in a "fail", not a clip opportunity because of how hilarious it was,  making the whole thing feel like a chore, not fun

and road trips across a *less* open map were more fun, all heading somewhere, going different ways and laughing when people found themselves up against car meet walls, lakes and other impassable barriers. You learned the map, because you had to.  Now we can go anywhere, but it all feels the same.

Posted on Forza forums, but just in case they don't like it lol. I felt inspired this morning:

My community has given up on the game, to a man, and has been discussing why. Conveniently we were also mainly game passing it, so nothing much lost, might still be playing if I had paid in full! I did play 3 longer, but mainly to get every car just because. And the main race I did was Goliath because the rest were incredibly generic. And so it is here.

I played Horizon 2 on Xbox One first, but have since completed all achievements in Horizon 1, both F&F ones, Horizon 3, and Horizon 2 on the 360 just for completionism. In that order, I went from:

- a wonderfully enjoyable grind of road trips, where all I had to do was choose a destination and a division, and it told me want to do (I'm now over 200 road trips and will be going back to it), to

- an actual progression grind with vaguely interesting characters and motivation to beat them, interesting PR stunts and motivation to beat them due to stricter fast travel, and a popularity system with  motivation just because I wanted to see what happened, to

- fun short stories set on a map I already loved, to

- a way overhyped map with a blueprint feature that was not as advertised, very generic races with no interesting towns, fun places that no race ever went, and some very dull playgrounds. I suddenly had to go to effort to set up multiplayer races, not just pick a class but pick a division, time of day, etc. And that made it less likely that people would have eligible cars, so we pretty quickly went back to 2. And I had to make an effort in single player too. Had to set the obnoxiously blatant game-extending championships to be as short as possible just to get the achievement, and once done, had to choose races to grind when I had only done each once or twice and had no feel for them ... to

- a bizarre take on my favourite map with much stricter physics making drifting really hard again, and annoying walls cutting off a lot of the open world. The grind of completing every race in every division, mercifully only 10, not 28 as per Xbox One, was real, but it was also fun, and I got to know even more races in that world, some more than others with the stricter "earn 1m credits from rivals" achievement, to

- an even more overhyped map with a season system we all knew would not change everything, poorly designed multiplayer with freeroam rush focusing on offroading while the races were very much on roads. At least road races were more on roads than in Horizon 3 where almost every race went offroad, but dirt races were also almost entirely on roads usually, so go figure.

The map is more open than ever, but as marketed, also much more vertical, so more obstacles with cliffs and a bloody lake in that open world. We are again directed where to jump and where to drift but, while I like the challenges, there is zero motivation to replay after three starring each, as compared to the hours we spent on jumps we found for ourselves on the Horizon 2 highway, still by far the best and longest highway in the franchise.

The credits grind is very real again with crazy expensive castles that we can't even go inside, instead of something like The Crew 2, where we can display vehicles in our house, or GTA, where I understand we can even host parties there. Crazy. The skills grind is even bigger with car masteries, and has become something you just sit and do for ages, especially with Forzathon targets, and things like the Sagaris FE requiring over 100 points into the Sagaris ... rather than just unlocking perks over time with no feeling of urgency, and focusing on racing ... weird idea I know!

But it was the "stories" that finished me. Not the difficulty, just the uninspiredness of them. The oops you hit a car in your 1939 classic, better restart the whole preamble with annoying cutscenes and voiceover ahain ... ness of them. Horizon 2's bucket lists got crazy hsrd, and the achievements had us do them in coop too. Horizon 3's didn't really bother with hard, leaving that to drift zones and blueprints, but those were either boring or intentionally ridiculously hard, and there was no motivation there. Horizon 4 cleverly took those away but made stories, taking away the do or die of bucket lists, making it slower to retry the events, and making them pretty generic with the same starting spot each time and pretty minimal variation, at least in the drift ones; I didn't bother with the others.

And then we have the expansions, which still aren't expansions as they are totally separate. They burned all those resources making seasons, and we're going to just leave that all behind for yet another island when there are clear bridges on the map that we were expecting great things from. To be honest I was half expecting them to bring in Hot Wheels as a fifth season! The grind in that particular expansion was amusing as they blatantly duplicated circuits just to make it seem longer. The three star systems were actually very cool, except that you could do only stunts and unlock all of the races. With Horizon 4 you at least have to do races to unlock races, but they're still presented in a random order with no feeling of progression.

This Horizon life thing just seems like a misinterpretation of what we actually want (he says sweepingly), well designed and memorable races on an easy to traverse but not necessarily just bushwhacking map. Horizon 2 balanced all that beautifully, still making us avoid most trees in cross country while fitting a lot into a map that really wasn't that open when you look back at it. It had seriously iconic roads because we drove them all the time on road trips, an amazing highway as mentioned, an airstrip that was a destination of a few races, and had that wall at the end that we kept trying to get over, so it became a natural as well as an official playground.

Clothes were an interesting addition in Horizon 4, but we see our avatars so little (although loading screens are longer than ever), and we see each other's basically never, that it seems like a lot of effort for a niche feature. Even Motorsport 7's gear was more interesting, and that's saying something. And I even ground out rank 10 on Mixer for that t-shirt, listening to the banal commentators ... talk about no motivation to replay lol :).

That'll have to do for now. Definitely agreed it is the shortest in terms of actually wanting to play. I'm going back to Horizon 2, myself.
